CancerDriversFundraiser

Shannon is pictured on the left with her daughter, Gabriela and event co-organizer and dear friend, Amanda.

Shannon is a young mother with cancer.  She also has a very young daughter. Her family and friends are remarkably supportive and see to her transportation to appointments along with other assistance and moral support.

Recently they asked me to attend a fundraiser they were having for Shannon to help her and her husband at this difficult time in their lives. Shannon told them they didn't need the money but the VCDS was helping others in need and funds should go to support their important work.  Recently Shannon sent $3200 to us as the proceeds from the event. A remarkable act of kindness from a remarkable young woman.
