Cancer Patient Transportation Program

The Volunteer Cancer Drivers Society is a not-for-profit organization providing free, safe, timely and efficient transportation to and from cancer related medical appointments throughout the Lower Mainland.

Our team of volunteer drivers and dispatchers offers peace of mind for patients who may not have the means to drive to and from appointments. The physical, emotional and financial burden is lifted knowing our friendly volunteers are only a call away.

"My Brother Byron needed transport from Surrey to the VGH BMT-AML Unit for Chemo over 4 months. I could not be there for him but your divers were. He was rested, at ease and the kind company put him in a healing frame of mind. You are Angels on Wheels. Thank you is not enough to say." ...Randy Hauer

Port Moody Fire Charity

It is the Port Moody Firefighters Charitable Society fifth year that they have supported us. Supporting us from the beginning, a group of only 44 firefighters. Remarkable.

An Amazing Gift

We received a $30,000 In-kind security gift from a gentleman in Langley. Giving through an In-kind security donation is a win-win for all. The donator gives their original investment (stock or mutual fund) and accrued gains and pays no capital gains tax plus a charitable tax receipt for the total amount donated. The VCDS receives the investment (including capital gains) and pays no tax.
